Enculturation: It is a systematic acquisition of the characteristics and norms of a culture or group by a person,or an another culture, etc. Enculturation refers to the process through which we learn about the culture we are from. Also through enculturation we learn what behaviors, values, morals, and language are accpetable in our society. we learn by observing other members of our society; which in cludes our parents, friends, and mentors. Enculturation gives us meaning to become more funtional members of our society.
For example: Observing how friends talk to each other to learn the acceptable language.
Acculturation: The word acculturation is the act of that transition. When groups of people or indivduals transition from living a lifestyle of their own culture to moving into a lifestyle of another culture, they must acculturate, or come to adapt the new culture’s behaviors, values, customs, and language.
For example: In an attempt to blend into new communities, many foreigners undergo acculturation and modify their lifestyles.
